• Caroline’s Trash the Dress Session

I have been speaking with a lot of couples recently about Trash the Dress sessions and I think that because of the name a lot of people get scared as soon as I say the words.  I thought it would be a good idea to do a blog entry on what this session entails.

We use Trash the Dress sessions as a second day of shooting and treat it like a Glamor Shoot.  TTD sessions allow our couples and ourselves to explore photography that couldn’t be done on the wedding day due to time restrictions or the fear of getting dirty before the reception.  We don’t actually trash the wedding dress unless our bride wants to.  Generally we are carefully climbing tress, playing in the sand and mud or getting wet at the lake.

These sessions also allow us to travel to places we couldn’t on the wedding day.  A few of our couples in the past have been from Winnipeg but their wedding was held on the family farm out in Brandon.  We used the Trash the Dress session for a shooting day in Winnipeg.

Below are some of my favorite TTD images that I shot with Caroline last October.
